UFC fighter rankings: Li Jingliang jumps onto the welterweight list

New, comment

The rankings weren’t really affected much by the first UFC event of 2021.

The UFC kicked off 2021 with a Saturday event on Fight Island, and it just happened to be the first-ever event to air on ABC. While the undercard was underwhelming, the main card more than made up for it, bringing straight fire for all five fights.

The biggest benefactor from this rankings-wise was Li Jingliang, whose finished Santiago Ponzinibbio via KO and entered the welterweight ranking for the first time.

Here’s a look at the changes this week.

Men’s P4P - Robert Whittaker moved up a spot to 12, dropping Conor McGregor to 13 ahead of UFC 257.

Heavyweight - Walt Harris moves up into a tie for 11 with Junior dos Santos. Marcin Tybura is up one into a tie for 14 with Sergei Pavlovich.

Light Heavyweight - No changes.

Middleweight - No changes.

Welterweight - Jingliang enters at 11 after taking out The Ponz.

Lightweight - No changes.

Featherweight - No changes.

Bantamweight - Casey Kenney enters the rankings for the first time at 15.

Flyweight - No changes.

Women’s P4P - Carla Esparza enters at 15 ahead of a possible title shot.

Women’s Bantamweight - No changes.

Women’s Flyweight - Alexa Grasso enters at 15.

Women’s Strawweight - Amanda Ribas drops from a tie for ten to take over 11 on her own.
