The fight between Tanner Boser and Andrei Arlovski has reportedly been moved from UFC on ESPN 16: Holm vs. Aldana card in October to an upcoming UFC Fight Night card in November.
The news was first reported by James Lynch. In an interview with Lynch, Boser gave the reason as to why the fight was pushed back for a month.
“Andrei was sick and I guess he knew for a fact that there was no possible way he could get better and fight in six weeks, but he would definitely be good in ten weeks, which makes tons of sense. And it’s definitely a real sickness, so November 7th,” said Boser.
Boser (19-6-1), who recently cracked the top 15 in the heavyweight division, has gone on quite the tear in the last few months. After dropping a unanimous decision against Ciryl Gane last December, Boser returned to the Octagon in June and knocked out former PFL champion Philipe Lins in the first round at UFC on ESPN 12: Poirier vs. Hooker.
A month later, Boser would make his second Octagon appearance this year and earned another knockout win, this time over Raphael Pessoa at UFC Fight Island 3: Whittaker vs. Till. After the Pessoa fight, Boser was offered and accepted the fight with Arlovski.
Arlovski (29-19-2) has alternated between wins and losses in the last few years, but most recently picked up unanimous decision win over the previously mentioned Lins at UFC Fight Night: Smith vs. Teixeira.
At this time, the lineup for UFC on ESPN 16: Holm vs. Aldana has not been updated to reflect this reported change.
So far, besides Boser vs. Arlovski, other fights confirmed for the November 7th., 2020 UFC Fight Night event, include Sarah Moraes vs Vanessa Melo (strawweight), Ian Heinisch vs Brendan Allen (middleweight) and Max Griffin vs Ramiz Brahimaj (welterweight). No location has been confirmed yet for this event.
