UFC Vegas 6 betting odds: Derrick Lewis projected to KO Alexey Oleinik

Check out the betting odds for tonight’s UFC Vegas 6 card, where Derrick Lewis is favored inside the distance against Alexey Oleinik in the main event.

UFC Vegas 6 is slated to take place tonight, August 8th, from the promotion’s APEX center in Las Vegas, Nevada. The featured matchup will be between raked heavyweights when the Derrick Lewis and Alexey Oleinik. It’s no secret that the #4 ranked Lewis has a knack for the knockout, and the #10 ranked Oleinik’s sub-savvy nickname is “The Boa Constrictor” for crying out loud. Talk about a clash of styles! Bloody Elbow is here to provide the betting lines for this upcoming collision, as well as the rest of the UFC Vegas 6 card.

The oddsmakers are liking them some Derrick Lewis in the main event. “The Black Beast” is the betting favorite here, clocking in with a minus moneyline of -185. That leaves Alexey Oleinik in the underdog slot, and he is available at a value of +170.

The over-under for this battle of big men has been set at 1.5 rounds. Originally, the ‘Over’ option opened up with a -120 favored line, to the ‘Under’s’ opening offering of -110. Since then, the ‘Under’ has barely overtaken as the favorite, now trending around -112. The ‘Over’ is now a -103 option.

In his last eleven outings, Lewis fought longer than 1.5 rounds in nine of those occurrences. The two bouts that ended under 1.5 rounds were second-round losses to former champs Junior dos Santos and Daniel Cormier. As for Oleinik, in his last eleven bouts he surpassed the round-and-a-half mark four times, with the other seven fights not reaching the midpoint of the second-round. We’ve got opposite ends of the spectrum here, so it’s easy to see why the over/under is such a tight line.

Lewis is known for knocking fools senseless and Oleinik sons his victims with submissions. Naturally, the betting odds peg this 25-minute main event as one that will be ending early. The prop bet ‘Fight doesn’t go to decision’ holds a severely favored moneyline of -700, with the ‘Fight goes to decision’ option labeled as a hefty +460 underdog.

Like I said earlier, if Lewis ends a fight early, it’s because he knocked someone out, and he is favored to do just that. Gamblers can pick up ‘Lewis wins by TKO/KO’ at a cost of -130, or ‘Any other result’ for less juice at -110. By comparison, ‘Oleinik wins by TKO/KO’ is sitting at a gigantic plus line of +1275, with ‘Any other result’ hovering at a dizzying price of -2875.

Oleinik is a submission guy though, and the ultimate Fight-Q test. The exotic bet ‘Oleinik wins by submission’ comes with a much more likely moneyline of +225, with any other result at a reasonable region of -305. For giggles, betters can truly gamble on ‘Lewis wins by submission’ for a huge +3600 return, or they play it ultra-safe and take the ‘Any other result’ wager at a lofty and ludicrous altitude of -13800. Yeah, that’s -13800.
