According to Recordnet, a NorCal local news site, a so-called MMA fighter is accused of launching a bizarre attack on their neighbor in San Joaquin County.

The incident took place in Woodbridge and was captured by surveillance cameras. Supposedly, the footage shows 19-year-old Juan Ramirez ringing his neighbor’s doorbell at around 7:30 p.m. After the neighbor answered the door, it is alleged that Ramirez began attacking him.

The surveillance footage allegedly shows Ramirez kicking and hitting the victim multiple times before picking up ‘baseball-sized rocks’ and using them to strike the victim in the face. The San Joaquin County Sheriff’s Office posted their account of the incident, in florid detail, on their Facebook page.

Neighbor comes knocking.

Imagine hearing your doorbell, looking out and seeing your neighbor. You open the door and instead of friendly conversation, you find yourself in a fight for your life.

That is exactly what happened to the 35-yr-old victim this last Monday, shortly after 730 pm in Woodbridge. He answered the door after seeing his neighbor, and as soon as he did, found himself in his front porch in the middle of an unprovoked physical attack.

Juan Ramirez, 19, assaulted the victim multiple times with both fists, kicked him several times, and picked up two baseball-sized rocks that he used to hit him across the face. He then dragged the victim across his property after the initial attack. All of this, being captured on surveillance cameras.

As a result, the victim was taken to a nearby hospital for medical treatment. His injuries included abrasions on the top and back of his head, minor cuts and bruises throughout his body, broken ribs, a collapsed lung, and a ruptured eardrum. He was awaiting exams to determine if he also had a broken left jaw and broken left wrist at the time of the initial report.

Ramirez, who claims to have training to be an MMA fighter, was booked into San Joaquin County jail and charged with assault with a deadly weapon, felony battery, and mayhem.

Ramirez was booked into the San Joaquin County Jail on $700,000 bail. He is facing felony charges of mayhem and assault with a deadly weapon.

Though the police account says Ramirez was training to be an MMA fighter, and local news described him as such, a search for any kind of pro record for Ramirez turned up empty.
