UFC fighter rankings: Derek Brunson, Jennifer Maia move up

A look at the changes in the UFC rankings this week.

UFC Vegas 5 went down last weekend, and it featured barely any fights. Injuries, COVID, and other issues narrowed down the card to just eight bouts, with only a couple involving ranked fighters.

With that being said, both the co-main event and the headliner did deliver some excitement and caused some movement in the rankings. Derek Brunson is rising at middleweight after taking away Edmen Shahbazyan’s undefeated record, while Jennifer Maia upset Joanne Calderwood and took a title fight from her grasp.
