Dana White on Pacquiao vs McGregor rumors: ‘I don’t care about any of that sh-t’

UFC president Dana White responds to ongoing rumors about a possible boxing match between Conor McGregor and Manny Pacquiao.

Even in retirement, Conor McGregor posts on social media as if he was still an active fighter. Last week, his “I accept” tweet immediately drew traction and questions.

UFC president Dana White initially believed it was directed at hyped prospect Khamzat Chimaev, who issued a call out to several fighters via Twitter, including McGregor.

“Yeah, that was Khamzat,” White said during the UFC Vegas 5 pre-fight scrum. “Khamzat posted, ‘I want Nate Diaz, Masvidal, or McGregor. And McGregor said. ‘I accept.’ That’s what that was.”

Reports later contradicted White’s response, but it was McGregor’s follow-up tweet in Filipino that put a spin on the story, reigniting talks about a possible fight with boxing legend Manny Pacquiao.

White was then asked about it during the UFC Vegas 5 post-fight scrum. This time, his response wasn’t as drawn out.

“I don’t care about any of that sh-t,” he said.

With Pacquiao and McGregor under the same management company, promoters would likely jump through lesser hoops to make a fight happen if they wanted to.

As of right now, the bossman doesn’t seem interested. But hey, we’ve been through this before so I won’t count it out just yet.
