UFC 252 video: Embedded, part 6 - ‘Why wouldn’t he?’

Check out the fourth episode of Embedded for UFC 252.

UFC 252 is almost here, and as usual, Embedded is here as well. The show that gives you an inside look at the marquee contestants on PPVs has issued the sixth and final episode for this weekend’s big show in UFC Apex, and it serves as a brief introduction to the fighters at the top of the card.

We start off at the athlete hotel with Daniel Cormier. He’s wearing a mask with his family on it. Over at UFC Apex, Stipe Miocic says it’s the first time he’s been here. He does the customary photoshoot as they sing a weird song. He does the blue steel pose. DC blows an air horn.

Press conference time. Stipe talks about the body work he can do. Cormier knows he’s going to do it too. Stipe says it is personal, because he’s trying to take something from him. He respects him though. Cormier talks about being in the air of Peyton Manning and Michael Jordan, walking away after winning a championship. That’s a bit much, DC.

Junior dos Santos sings as he enters the Octagon to do some sparring. He knows this is a big opportunity, and he respects his opponent. He shows his respect by training hard and showing up as the best JDS. He believes he’ll be fighting for the title again with a win here.

Sean O’Malley is there. He just wants to break a sweat and start his weight cut. He just needs to cut the water, 12 hours out from weigh-ins.

Weigh-ins time. Marlon Vera is 136. He blows kisses to the media. O’Malley is 136. Miocic is 233. Cormier is 236. Respectful staredown between JDS and Jairzinho Rozenstruik. O’Malley and Vera have a long staredown as Vera chirps at his opponent. Suga says nothing, and Vera calls him on it. Miocic and DC are intense but respectful.

And that’s it! UFC 252 goes down tonight in Vegas.
