After impressing in his UFC debut last week, the talented prospect Khamzat Chimaev faces a 10-day turnaround to fight BAMMA veteran Rhys McKee at UFC Fight Island 3.

ESPN first reported the fight, and it was announced as official on the UFC Fight Island 2 broadcast. Chimaev fought John Phillips last Wednesday, using his wrestling to dominate the fight eventually picking up a second-round submission to earn a $50,000 performance bonus.

Chimaev (7-0) fights out of Allstars Training Center in Sweden, his teammate Alexander Gustafsson will also make his heavyweight debut against Fabricio Werdum on the upcoming card this weekend. Before signing for the UFC, Chimaev fought for Bahrain’s Brave CF promotion.

McKee (10-2-1) will be making his UFC debut against Chimaev. Usually competing at 155-pounds, “Skeletor” has recently competed for Cage Warriors and is unbeaten in his last three fights. McKee’s fight with Chimaev will take place at welterweight.

UFC Fight Island 3 takes place this Saturday, July 25th, on Yas Island, Abu Dhabi. The event will be headlined by a middleweight fight between former champion Robert Whittaker and Darren Till.
