UFC 251 and UFC on ESPN 13 Medical Suspensions: Kamaru Usman gets 180 days

In the past seven days the UFC hosted its first events on what it has dubbed ‘Fight Island’. The promotion has, of course, visited Yas Island, UAE in the past, but let’s not worry about that.

In the wake of both UFC 251 and UFC on ESPN 13, the UFC has released a list of medical suspensions. In UAE the UFC acts as its own commission so these suspensions were developed by the promotion themselves.

This info comes via Kirik Jenness, who posted them to his UnderGround forum at mixedmartialarts.com.

The suspensions for UFC 251, which saw Kamaru Usman defend his welterweight crown against short notice replacement Jorge Masvidal as as follows:

Kamaru Usman: 180 Days or cleared by Nasal X-Ray and 21 Days No Contact.

Jorge Masvidal: 30 Days for forehead laceration and 21 Days No Contact.

Alexander Volkanovski: 30 Days due to hard bout and 21 Days No Contact.

Max Holloway: 30 Days to due to hard bout and 21 Days No Contact.

Petr Yan: 30 Days due to hard bout and 21 Days No Contact.

Jose Aldo: 45 Days due to TKO - 45 Day Mandatory, 30 Days No Contact.

Rose Namajunas: 30 Days and 21 Days No Contact.

Jessica Andrade: 7 Days for Mandatory Rest.

Amanda Ribas: 7 Days for Mandatory Rest.

Paige VanZant: 7 Days to Vanzant for Mandatory Rest.

Jiri Prochazka: 7 Days for Mandatory Rest.

Volkan Oezdemir: 60 Days due to KO and 45 Days No Contact.

The UFC also released to Jenness/mixedmartialarts.com the suspensions for UFC on ESPN 13: Kattar vs. Ige. At that event Calvin Kattar beat Dan Ige to set himself up as a potential future challenger to UFC featherweight champion Alex Volkanovski.
