It didn’t take long for Kamaru Usman to get into a scrap with Justin Gaethje following ‘The Nigerian Nightmare’s change of training camp ahead of his welterweight title defense against Gilbert Burns at UFC 251.
Usman and Gaethje can be seen exchanging body shots in the following video posted on Instagram.
“Iron sharpens iron. How much would you pay to watch this for a few rounds? @usman84kg is looking like a straight killer. Glad to have him in the room. Just two dudes having fun,” Gaethje posted on Sunday.
The man smiling in the background is head coach Trevor Wittman. Usman decided to leave Sanford MMA (formerly Blackzilians) and relocate to Denver, Colorado to train under Wittman just two weeks out from his welterweight title clash with Burns at UFC 251.
Gaethje, on the other hand, is preparing for his lightweight title unification bout with undefeated champ Khabib Nurmagomedov at UFC 253. ‘The Highlight’ recently beat Tony Ferguson at UFC 249 and is expected to challenge Nurmagomedov on Sept. 19.
UFC 251, which features Usman vs. Burns as the main event, takes place next month, July 11 at the UFC Fight Island facility on Yas Island, Abu Dhabi.
