On Sunday, women’s MMA pioneer Gina Carano became a hot topic on Instagram when she put up a topless photo of herself. As the 38-year-old former Strikeforce contender noted on the post, it was her way of expressing her freedom as she lifted a quote from one of Prince’s final interviews.
The photo merely showed a silhouette of her upper body and was tastefully done. Most comments were that of praise and appreciation said in jest, but there was one that stood out. It came from Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu legend Renzo Gracie, who saw it a bit differently from everyone else.
Gracie took a more old school, fatherly approach and gave a bit of a lecture about his views on what beauty really is.
Renzo Gracie doesn't like when Gina Carano posts some sexy photos.

And this is silly, because every photo of Gina Carano is a sexy photo imo. pic.twitter.com/GKDczD1JbA
Carano, who’s been focused on her acting career for the last decade, is no stranger to being a bit risque in front of the camera. She’s appeared on the cover of men’s magazines like Maxim, and was part of the first ESPN Body issue in 2009.
UPDATE: Instagram took down the post according to Carano for supposedly being in violation of the rules.
So that’s what it’s like to be censored for no reason. Pic was taken down by Instagram. There’s much more important news today but that was some classic bullshit. The whole post was about freedom of expression. Violating zero rules. Ironic. Feels like I graduated. Thanks Karen pic.twitter.com/hJDn4Vph49

I’m going to start an all nude protest and be the only one fully clothed because I’m far too shy for that. Jk jk (but feel free to take the idea) pic.twitter.com/bknbWMYovq
