You truly could not make this up.

According to The Athletic’s Mike Coppinger, heavyweight boxing contender Jarrell “Big Baby” Miller has reportedly tested positive for PEDs once again. He was scheduled to make his Top Rank Boxing debut against Jerry Forrest on July 9th, but obviously that is not happening.

Miller (23-0-1 NC, 20 KOs) famously was supposed to be Anthony Joshua’s opponent for his United States debut last year. Miller not only popped for GW1516 (Endurabol), which initially pulled him from the fight, he also tested positive for HGH and EPO. That PED triple crown cost Miller at least $5 million in purse money and paved the way for Andy Ruiz to step in and pull off the shocking upset.

As for what prompted this failure, Bob Arum told The Ring’s Ryan O’Hara that it’s a substance he’s had in his system in the past.

Miller has weighed north of 300 pounds in his last three fights and is known for unusually high volume and cardio for a man of his size. I think we’re clued in as to how he manages such a workrate.

Lest we forget that in 2014 when he competed in GLORY kickboxing, Miller was suspended nine months for methylhexaneamine. This means this is his 5th drug test failure overall, which is astonishing in itself.

By the way, you might be wondering why Miller never received any serious punishment for the triple failures from last year. Well technically speaking, the New York State Athletic Commission was powerless to do anything because Miller wasn’t licensed. Well he did get licensed in Nevada this time and depending on how this case plays out, their commission could take into account his history and drop the hammer down.
