Dan Hooker mocks Max Rohskopf for quitting on stool: He’s made of marshmallows

“How do you get into the UFC without realising you’re made of marshmallows?”

Talk about rubbing salt in the wound.

Surging lightweight contender Dan Hooker has thrown UFC newcomer Max Rohskopf under the bus for quitting against Austin Hubbard at UFC on ESPN 11 last night.

Rohskopf, who took the fight on short notice, had to call for a UFC official to stop the fight in between the second and third rounds because coach Robert Drysdale refused to call the fight.

Hooker. who is scheduled to face Dustin Poirier later this month at UFC on ESPN 12, made fun of the incident and labelled Rohskopf a ‘marshmallow’.

“How do you get into the UFC without realising you’re made of marshmallows?” Hooker posted on Twitter.

UFC president Dana White has defended Rohskopf from criticism and credited the 25-year-old for accepting the bout on short notice. The longtime fight promoter has said Rohskopf’s critics have no idea what they’re talking about.

“You should absolutely be able to quit. I know that it’s frowned upon but guess what? Anybody that would talk sh*t about you quitting, isn’t in there fighting. It’s real easy to be a critic. What these kids do is a whole other level.”

Hooker, 30, will take on Poirier in the UFC on ESPN 12 main event on June 27 at the UFC APEX facility in Las Vegas, Nevada.
