If 2020 wasn’t already weird enough, betting odds have surfaced for a potential boxing match between the former heavyweight champ of the world, Mike Tyson, and former UFC light heavyweight king, Tito Ortiz.
Online gambling site SportsBetting.ag has the 53-year-old “Iron” Mike opening up as a heavy betting favorite against the 45-year-old “Huntington Beach Bad Boy.” Gamblers can wager on the 50-6-2 Tyson, who hasn’t professionally competed since June of 2005, for a cost of -400. Recent training videos of Tyson have been circulating around in which he does appear much slower than before, as expected, but the technique is still there and power is the last to go.
Going back the other way, a professional MMA record of 21-12-1 without any real pro boxing experience has landed Ortiz as a +300 underdog. Tito recently knocked out a totally washed Chuck Liddell in an MMA fight, but he has never really been known for having fluid boxing combinations, slick defense, or above-average punching power for that matter. Eight years of youth is on Tito’s side here, which gives him a possible advantage in the reflex, durability, and cardio departments.
**This bout must take place by December 31, 2020 for action.
