We venture back to the red corner today for our BE’s BADDEST Tournament Series to figure out what is the single Greatest MMA Fight Of All Time — that one to watch before the world ends. Our featured matchup involves the #1 ranked, Weili Zhang vs. Joanna Jedrzejczyk, slugging it out with the #2 seed, Robbie Lawler vs. Carlos Condit.
In yesterday’s tournament matchup, the blue corner witnessed #3 Jon Jones vs Alexander Gustafsson 1 taking on #5 Wanderlei Silva vs. Quinton “Rampage” Jackson 2. With a score of 23-11, Silva vs Rampage has upset the #3 seed and now moves on to the next round of our tournament to compete against #1 Dan Henderson vs. Shogun Rua.
Weili Zhang vs. Joanna Jedrzejczyk became an instant classic at UFC 248, March 7th of this year. Top shelf technique was on display for five rounds, with both fighters showing off the heart of a champion. The fight had all the volume, all the momentum swings, and ALL the swelling. Jedrzejczyk was downright unrecognizable afterwards. This banger resulted in Weili taking home a split decision to keep her title, but this one could have just as easily gone the other way.
Robbie Lawler vs. Carlos Condit was a 170-pound championship bout and took place at UFC 195 on January 2, 2016. With both men known for their violent natures, this fight lived up to the hype! Both men scored knockdowns and both were forced to weather respective storms. In the end, it was the “Ruthless” one who walked away with the split decision and his belt intact.
