The world watches as Italy struggles to cope with the coronavirus pandemic that has swept the nation, and many celebrities have extended their condolences and shared their sympathies on social media.

Conor McGregor, who is still training in self-quarantine back home in Dublin, Ireland, is the latest star to offer his condolences to the Italian people.

‘The Notorious’ posted the following heartfelt message on Instagram.

“I cannot get Italy out of my thoughts. Praying daily for this great nation that brought the world such amazing things. From it’s people and their culture. To it’s architecture and design. Its style! It’s cuisine! It’s art! The list goes on and on and on! Italy and it’s people are class personified, through and through. ‪Lord Jesus please save Italy and it’s people today and everyday here forward,” McGregor posted on Sunday.

Italy’s hospitals have been ravaged by coronavirus, as the country has recorded over 59,000 cases and almost 5,500 deaths. 7,024 people are thought to have made a full recovery, per worldometers.

McGregor is rumored to return to the Octagon against Justin Gaethje in July. Although the bout hasn’t been announced, McGregor has already opened as the sizeable betting favorite.
