Anderson was knocked out by Jan Blachowicz in the opening round.

Just over three months after a spectacular knockout win, UFC light heavyweight contender Corey Anderson found himself on the wrong end of an opening round KO.

Anderson was stopped by Jan Blachowicz in Saturday’s UFC Rio Rancho main event, ending his winning streak at four and setting back his title shot aspirations. Shortly after the loss, Anderson released a short but optimistic statement on Instagram.

”A great coach once told me ‘You have 5 minutes to sulk and then it’s on to the next one!’” he said. “We live and we learn. Back to the drawing board. I appreciate each and every fan and hater! A [loss] has never stopped me and it ain’t stopping me now. See yall at the top!”

In 2015, Anderson (13-5) won via dominant unanimous decision against Blachowicz, but Jan made sure there wouldn’t be a repeat outcome. It’s the fourth knockout loss out of five career defeats for The Ultimate Fighter season 19 winner.
