Conor McGregor reacts to Khabib Nurmagomedov’s UFC 242 win: ‘Book my rematch for Moscow’

Conor McGregor has spoken...er... tweeted.

Khabib Nurmagomedov kept his unbeaten record intact and remained the UFC lightweight champion with an emphatic third-round submission victory over Dustin Poirier at UFC 242 in Abu Dhabi. It was Khabib’s first fight since submitting Conor McGregor last year in the bout dubbed as “the biggest fight in UFC history,” and McGregor has of course been adamant that he wants a rematch.

If McGregor wasn’t in your thoughts at all when watching UFC 242, then he made sure to catch your attention and get a bunch of websites (ours included) some shameless page views. He tweeted his want of another crack at Khabib, but in the Russian capital of Moscow.

Actually, he never indicated that it was Nurmagomedov. He may want to rematch Jose Aldo or Nate Diaz in Russia to make it a neutral site venue, or he wants to box Floyd Mayweather in Moscow to take away the advantage Mayweather has of competing in his hometown all the time. Or maybe it’s Khabib and I’m just being a wisecrack.

Whatever the case, McGregor’s 2019 has been defined by legal troubles, both caught on tape and reported. He did say he wants to return to the Octagon by the end of the year, but I doubt “rematch in Moscow” with Khabib is in the cards.
