Khabib Nurmagomedov is still the undisputed UFC lightweight champion.
In the UFC 242 main event, the undefeated Dagestani dynamo thoroughly outclassed interim champ Dustin Poirier, taking him down several times and just bullying a world-class opponent on the ground. Apart from a few strikes early in round two, Khabib was scarcely touched and got the exact fight he wanted. Poirier didn’t have many answers for the grappling and chain wrestling of Khabib, and when Dustin’s guillotine choke in round three failed, Nurmagomedov answered with a rear-naked choke to seal the deal.
