Invicta FC: Phoenix Rising 2 results and discussion

It’s another busy weekend in combat sports, and Invicta FC is here to bring you something special tonight (September 6th).

From the Memorial Hall in Kansas City, Kansas, the second “Phoenix Rising” card will commence. Eight women will vie for the vacant flyweight title in a one-night tournament. As was the case for the strawweights, the tournament starts off with one-round quarterfinals, and the semifinals will be randomized if there are no finishes. Otherwise the person with the fastest finish gets to choose her opponent. The semis are also one round, followed by a three-round tournament final to crown the winner and thus the champion. Fighters aren’t allowed to compete for more than five-rounds in a single night, hence the final is just three rounds and the other two tournament bouts are a combined two rounds.
