Tonight (August 20th) is Week 9 of season three of Dana White’s Contender Series, which highlights up-and-coming talent as well as some former UFC fighters looking for a second crack at the big time. Winners aren’t guaranteed a UFC contract, but it certainly helps to both win and impress at the same time.

Bloody Elbow is your place for live discussion of this five-fight event at the UFC Apex facility in Las Vegas, Nevada. The main event is a welterweight bout between Leon Shahbazyan (brother of current UFC middleweight Edmen Shahbazyan) and Phil Rowe.

As is the case throughout the summer, Dana White’s Contender Series streams live on ESPN+. For those outside of the USA, you can still watch it on UFC Fight Pass, starting at 8 PM ET/5 PM PT. The full fight card is as follows:

Phil Rowe def. Leon Shahbazyan by TKO (punches) at :16 of round 3 - Welterweights

Jamal Pogues def. Marcos Brigagao via unanimous decision (30-27, 30-27, 30-27) - Lightweights

Steve Garcia def. Desmond Torres via TKO (strikes) at 4:15 of round 1 - Catchweight (Garcia missed bantamweight limit)

Mallory Martin def. Micol di Segni via unanimous decision (30-27, 30-27, 29-28) - Strawweights

Ricky Steele def. Phil Caracappa via unanimous decision (29-28, 28-29, 29-28) - Bantamweights
