Rogan on UFC’s reported efforts to overturn Jon Jones’ only loss: ‘I am in agreement with this 100%’

MMA: UFC 235-Jones vs Smith Stephen R. Sylvanie-USA TODAY Sports

Way back in 2009, Jon Jones entered a fight with Matt Hamill sporting a 9-0 record and had two UFC wins under his belt. On that night in Vegas, Jones totally dominated Hamill and was cruising to victory. Unfortunately for him, he used some illegal blows - 12-to-6 elbows - in the process. He was disqualified for it.

Ten years and 15 fights later, that remains the only loss on Jones’ record. And according to reports, UFC president Dana White is trying to do something about it. White apparently stated on a recent radio appearance that he’s working with the Nevada State Athletic Commission to get the DQ loss overturned:

When MMA website ran an article about this reported happening, UFC announcer Joe Rogan responded on Twitter with his resounding support of such a move:

It is unclear at this point if the Nevada Commission is willing to budge on this. After all, the bout took place a decade ago and overturning it has no real impact on anything other than Jones then being able to say he’s undefeated. But it could set an interesting precedent if Dana White is able to push the motion though.

Jones returns to the cage to defend his light heavyweight title against Thiago Santos at UFC 239 next month.
