John Lineker out of UFC Greenville co-main event fight with Rob Font

UFC Greenville has taken a major blow less than 48 hours before the event was set to go down. A few weeks ago, John Lineker stepped up on short notice to meet Rob Font after Font’s original opponent Cody Stamann was forced to pull out.

Now, it’s Lineker’s turn.

According to MMA Junkie, Lineker is a late scratch from Saturday’s co-main event bout.

The reason is unknown at this point, and it’s not clear whether the UFC will be able to find another replacement fight for Font on such short notice. It should be noted that there is one other bantamweight fight on the card - the opening bout between Andre Ewell and Anderson Dos Santos. But who knows if the UFC would be interested in bumping one of them up to face Font on virtually no notice.

UFC Greenville, also known as UFC on ESPN+ 13, will be headlined by a featherweight fight between Renato Moicano and Chan Sung Jung.
