Looks like the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree.

This past weekend, Anderson Silva’s son won his Muay Thai debut, showing that he also has some of his father’s vaunted striking ability.

Gabriel Silva, said to be just 20-years-old, competed in an amateur Muay Thai bout at WCK 35, in Burbank, California. The son of the legendary UFC fighter won by second round TKO over Nick Navarro. His proud father posted an instagram clip showing Gabriel score two knockdowns in a round.

“I’m very proud,” the 44-year-old Silva wrote, as translated by MMA Fighting. “I saw a lot of me in you today. I’m happy, and think that the certainty that I can really stop really is closer. Love you, my son. Bad Boys.”

Here’s a photo of Silva’s son after his big win this weekend, along with an old sparring video with his father from a few years back.
