“If I had to put words into his mouth for him, I would say he’s pissed that a punk white kid has came into the UFC and is making over double him and I’ve had no history in the UFC.”

Jorge Masvidal can’t stand Ben Askren, and ‘Gamebred’ wants to put an epic beatdown on the former Bellator and ONE FC welterweight champion in their proposed welterweight matchup at the upcoming UFC 239 pay-per-view on July 6.

“I want to break his f—king face, I want to break his f—king rib cage, and I don’t want to knock him out early on.” Masivdal said on The Joe Rogan Experience last month. “I just want to torture that guy, man. If I get the chance to torture that guy for 14 minutes and 50 seconds before I stop him, that’s what I’m gonna do, man.”

Asked why he thinks Masvidal has such hatred towards him, ‘Funky’ said it’s probably because he’s jealous of the fact that he’s making more money than him despite having only signed with the UFC a few months ago.

“If I had to put words into his mouth for him, I would say he’s pissed that a punk white kid has came into the UFC and is making over double him and I’ve had no history in the UFC,” Askren said in a recent interview with Ariel Helwani (h/t Fernando Quiles Jr. of MMA News). And so in his head that’s unjust and he doesn’t like that and that’s unfair. To that I would say, well listen there’s a reason I made my brand so valuable and there’s a reason I get paid what I do. And if you look at any type of metrics, which you have Ariel so you can verify this for me, my numbers are looking pretty damn good Jorge so suck it.”

Askren made his UFC debut earlier this year at UFC 235, submitting former champ Robbie Lawler with a bulldog choke at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.

Masvidal, a former bare knuckle fighter from the streets of Miami, Florida, recently knocked out Darren Till to etch his name into the top-five welterweight rankings.

UFC 239, which is expected to feature Masvidal vs. Askren on the main card, takes place later this year, July 6 at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.
