Tonight, follow along with Bloody Elbow for live fight night coverage of Canelo Alvarez vs. Daniel Jacobs. We’ll have round by round results all night. Here, rounds 1-3.

Round 1: Canelo pushing forward with Jacobs moving back. Jacobs working primarily behind the jab, while Canelo uses more hooks, including one nice body hook once Jacobs gets on the ropes. Jacobs is a bit more active, and though he didn’t land a ton of clean shots, his activity gets him the round for me. I wouldn’t call that a robbery if a judge gave it to Canelo. 10-9 Jacobs

Round 2: A bit more jab output from Canelo this time, including some that send Jacobs back and off balance. They are starting to trade some inside body shots too, with both landing well. Canelo lands one hard hook, but when he goes for it again, Jacobs is the one that connects. They end the round in a bit of a flurry - feels like things could really get hot at any moment. 10-9 Canelo

Round 3: A couple good shots land for Canelo here once he gets Jacobs on the ropes. That will clearly be a position Jacobs needs to avoid as the fight progresses. Jacobs does land a good combination later - feels like Canelo didn’t get much off clean in the 2nd half there. 10-9 Jacobs

29-28 Jacobs through 3, but even 30-27 Canelo wouldn’t be appalling.
