After Hermansson loss, Jacare Souza ‘would love’ to rematch Kelvin Gastelum

Middleweight contender Ronaldo Souza wants to avenge his split decision loss to Kelvin Gastelum.

Perennial middleweight contender Ronaldo Souza does not want to sit around for too long after his upset loss to Jack Hermansson.

Bested via unanimous decision just last April, ‘Jacare’ already has plans for his next outing. In a post on his official Instagram profile, the 39-year-old wrote he would like to take on Kelvin Gastelum one more time, a man who already defeated him via split decision back in May 2018. Furthermore, the Brazilian also stated to have already gotten in touch with UFC matchmaker Mick Maynard in order to get his wish granted.

“I would love to have a rematch against Kelvin Gastelum. I already asked for this fight to matchmaker Mick Maynard. I hope that the UFC and Gastelum accept my wish.”

Before the loss to Hermansson, Ronaldo Souza (26-7-1 NC) scored a knockout win over former champion Chris Weidman, back in November 2018. As for Kelvin Gastelum (15-4-1 NC), the 27-year-old was defeated via unanimous decision by Israel Adesanya, in April, in a fight for the interim middleweight title. Before the loss, Kelvin was on a two-fight winning streak, with the victory over Jacare and a knockout win over Michael Bisping prior to that one.
