Nate Diaz is back.

He meets former UFC lightweight champion Anthony Pettis at UFC 241 on Aug. 17 in Anaheim, Yahoo! Sports’ Kevin Iole reported Saturday night. The bout will take place in the welterweight division, per the report.

Pettis, who moved up to 170 pounds in his last fight, is coming off a first-round knockout of Stephen Thompson in March. Before that, “Showtime” had had mixed results at 155 pounds ever since dropping the title in 2015, including a recent win over Michael Chiesa and loss to Tony Ferguson.

After the upset win over “Wonderboy,” Pettis said he wanted to return to the lightweight division. It appears his plans have been put on hold for a high-profile bout against Diaz.

Diaz hasn’t competed since an August 2016 decision loss to former lightweight and featherweight champ Conor McGregor in a rematch. Diaz beat McGregor just months prior by second-round submission. He was scheduled to face Dustin Poirier at UFC 230 last year before Poirier withdrew due to injury, and he did not remain on the card.

UFC 241 is headlined by a heavyweight title rematch between champion Daniel Cormier and ex-titleholder Stipe Miocic. Pettis vs. Diaz will serve as the co-main event.
