UFC 237 is in-progress, and Laureano Staropoli just defeated long-time UFC veteran Thiago Alves by unanimous decision. Staropoli is now riding a seven-fight winning wave, having won both of his UFC bouts. Opening up the PPV main card, the UFC’s #11 ranked bantamweight Irene Aldana pulled out a third round submission of the #13 ranked Bethe Correia. Aldana was arguably down on the scorecards, but made the most of a botched takedown from Correia to sniff out an armbar. After a rough 0-2 start with the promotion, Aldana has finally gained some traction with three-straight wins in the UFC.
