The UFC 237 Fight Pass prelims just finished up with Luana Carolina dominating Priscila Cachoeira on the feet, even dropping her with a head kick en route to a unanimous decision victory. Carolina cashes in on her UFC debut and makes an exciting addition to the UFC’s 125-pound division. Before that, Raoni Barcelos scored a huge knockdown and piled on the ground strikes to achieve a second-round stoppage of Carlos Huachin. Barcelos has now finished all three of his UFC victims. Opening up the event, Viviane Araujo made the most of her UFC debut, scoring a one-punch knockout of promotional veteran Talita Bernardo. Araujo now enjoys a four-fight winning streak, but more importantly, the natural 115’er just knocked out a bantamweight. That puts her natural strawweight division on notice.

Fight Pass prelims:
Luana Carolina def. Priscila Cachoeira by unanimous decision (30-26 x2, 29-27): (W) Flyweight
Cachoeira came out throwing her hands and Carolina was willing to return volume. Carolina was landing off of her back foot and even hit a set of flush head kicks. Cachoeira kept coming forward, showing off a great chin, but one can only take so many head kicks. Carolina went back upstairs, dropping Cachoeira with a kick. Cachoeira recovered, escaping a sub attempt, but ate an illegal knee to the skull. The referee briefly stopped the action. Carolina got back to work upon the restart and somehow Cachoeira hung tough. The strikes of Carolina continued to score in the final round. She really looked a lot more comfortable and a lot more fluid with her techniques. Cachoeira pressed forward, but just couldn’t match the output.
Raoni Barcelos def. Carlos Huachin by TKO at 4:49 of round 2: Bantamweight
There was a bunch of phone booth fighting going on in the opening five-minutes. Technical combos were exchanged back and forth, with both men willing and eager to engage. Huachin seem to get in the better licks of a rather exciting round. Barcelos pulled out a big knockdown in the second act, courtesy of a right hand. Relentless ground strikes came pouring down for Barcelos mixed in with positional control. Just as the round was growing old, Barcelos brought his blows a little bit harder, and the referee stopped the match.
Viviane Araujo def. Talita Bernardo by KO at :48 of round 3: (W) Bantamweight
The bantamweights were content to stand in front of one another. Araujo was the one getting the better of the exchanges, racking up more volume than her adversary. Bernardo tried to get the fight to the ground towards the end of the round, and did just that, but ended up on the bottom. Araujo returned to her striking in the second act, staying just a step ahead of Bernardo. She was able to fend all off the takedown attempts of Bernardo, and even scored a late takedown of her own before the bell. Come round three, Araujo uncorked a solo massive overhand right to score the walk-off knockout.
