On Saturday, during a WWE Hall of Fame ceremony at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, NY, Canadian pro wrestling legend Bret Hart was tackled onto the ground by an audience member. The incident occurred while Hart, who was being inducted into the WWE Hall of fame, was giving a speech on live television.

The live feed cut away once the ring rusher, who was wearing a Rastafarian-style novelty hat, invaded the ring. Despite the live feed panning into the crowd, plenty of footage of the incident made its way onto the internet.

In video clips uploaded to twitter the audience member is seen being swarmed by security inside the ring before being dragged off of the apron. Getting in on that action was former UFC heavyweight Travis Browne, who looked as though he landed a couple of punches during all the chaos (per MMA Mania). The individual is then walked out of the arena to a chorus of boos.

You can check out the incident, from various camera angles, below:

Yesterday it was revealed that the man who rushed the ring was Zachary Madsen, a 26-year-old amateur mixed martial artist from Lincoln, NB.

According to the New York Daily News a twitter account associated with Madsen posted a tweet on April 2nd stating that WWE owner Vince McMahon would “rue the day” he decided to “have three ‘females’ main event Wrestlemania 35.”

Wrestlemania 35 was held the day after the incident. It featured former UFC champion Ronda Rousey vs. both Becky Lynch and Charlotte Flair in the main event. This was the WWE’s first ever all-female Wrestlemania main event.

Madsen has been charged with assault and criminal trespassing.

According to Tapology Madsen has a 2-1 amateur MMA record. His most recent fight was in March, 2018.
