UFC fighter rankings: Roxanne Modafferi back in the top five at women’s flyweight

UFC Russia was pretty irrelevant rankings-wise.

UFC Russia was one of the most irrelevant shows the promotion has put on in a while. Over half of the fights finished before the final horn, but there weren’t a lot of ranked fighters competing and due to the early start time, there weren’t a lot of people watching either.

Thus, there are not a lot of changes in the UFC rankings this week. Shamil Abdurakhimov and Roxy Modafferi are the only people to move up multiple spots, and even an Alistair Overeem win in the main event didn’t really mean a lot.

Anyway, here’s a look at the differences for this week.

P4P - No changes.

Heavyweight - Overeem moved into a tie for six with Alexander Volkov. Abdurakhimov and Marcin Tybura flip-flopped the 10 and 13 spots after Abdurakhimov stopped Tybura via TKO.

Light Heavyweight - No changes.

Middleweight - Elias Theodorou is now tied in the 13 spot with Uriah Hall.

Welterweight - No changes.

Lightweight - Donald Cerrone fell from a tie for seven with Edson Barboza to take over the eight spot on his own. Islam Makhachev enters the rankings at 15 after his UFC Russia co-main event win.

Featherweight - No changes.

Bantamweight - No changes.

Flyweight - No changes. For the first time in about six months.

Women’s Bantamweight - No changes.

Women’s Flyweight - Modafferi is up two spots into a tie for five after her close split decision win last weekend. Alexis Davis is down one to seven. Jennifer Maia is up one spot into a tie for eight. Maycee Barber and Paige VanZant are both up a spot to 13 an 14. Poliana Botelho enters the rankings at five.

Women’s Strawweight - Karolina Kowalkiewicz fell from a tie for nine into the ten spot on her own.
