Former UFC heavyweight champion Junior dos Santos stopped the #3 ranked Derrick Lewis in a wild and wacky UFC Wichita main event.
JDS hurt his foe with a spinning kick to the body in the first round, and looked to get the finish. It wasn’t until the second act that JDS was able to pour on the volume and cause Lewis to fold up. A barrage of unanswered strikes scored for JDS and the referee was forced to stop the match.
Check out Tim Burke’s play-by-play round two of Junior dos Santos vs.Derrick Lewis:
Round 2 - Head kick from Lewis. JDS off to a slow start. Jab to the body from Cigano. Outside leg kick from Lewis. JDS with one of his own. Dos Santos slips and Lewis tries to feed him punches, but Dos Santos gets away. Jumping head kick is blocked. Lewis charges in for a weird takedown attempt. Shockingly it didn’t work. Big right from Dos Santos! Lewis is hurt! Two more punches and he’s down! JDS swarms and he takes out the Black Beast!
