Conor McGregor says a rematch with Floyd Mayweather ‘will be interesting, no doubt’

Conor McGregor is interested in a rematch with Floyd Mayweather Jr.

Love it or hate it, Conor McGregor vs. Floyd Mayweather Jr. was one of the highest grossing fights in combat sports history, and a rematch would probably be another box office smash.

McGregor, the former UFC ‘champ-champ,’ lost the fight via 10th round technical knockout but, judging by a recent Tweet, the Irishman feels he would have more success in a rematch.

“I spoiled it with the rush right hook here,” McGregor posted on Twitter. “The angle was made. He was in the dirt. I just had to set correctly into my feet and fire. Rushing the right hook I lost balance on my back hand. Great boxing fight! A rematch will be interesting no doubt.”

Although it’s been rumoured that McGregor is currently in negotiations for a UFC showdown against Donald ‘Cowboy’ Cerrone, ‘The Notorious’ has the star power to change his mind and pick any opponent of his choosing.

It’s estimated that McGregor made roughly $100 million for the Mayweather bout, and the former UFC lightweight and featherweight champ would probably make just as much money in a rematch.

For the sake of combat sports fans around the world, however, let’s hope McGregor’s next fight is in the UFC and not the boxing ring.
