Cody Garbrandt is down but not out.
In a Fight of the Night classic at UFC 235, ‘No Love’ was knocked out by Pedro Munhoz in the first round, losing his third straight fight via KO/TKO.
The Team Alpha Male product has been criticized for brawling with Munhoz, but Garbrandt is glad to have gone out on his shield and put on an exciting show for the fans at Las Vegas’ T-Mobile Arena.
Garbrandt says it’s ‘kill or be killed’ when he steps into the Octagon.
“Kill or be Killed that’s how this shit goes!” Garbrandt posted on Instagram, following his loss to Munhoz.
The knockout artist also posted an inspirational quote from Starbucks CEO Howard Schultz in his second image, as well as thanking his fans for the love and support.
“In times of adversity and change, we really discover who we are and what we’re made of,” Garbrandt posted.
“I want to thank everyone on this journey! I love this fight game. I’m healing up and will be back soon!”
Despite suffering a string of KO losses, Garbrandt is still ranked at No. 2 in the official UFC featherweight rankings, but expect the 27-year-old to slip a few places when the UFC updates its list.
