The UFC Philadelphia co-main event just witnessed unranked Jack Hermansson quickly submit the promotion’s #11 ranked middleweight David Branch not even a minute into the first round. It’s the biggest win of Hermansson’s career, whereas Branch has now dropped two straight and may have seen his fading title hopes go away for good.
Hermansson went right after Branch, leaping in with punches. Branch got tripped and Hermansson quickly locked ahold of the neck. Hermansson locked up an arm-in guillotine and Branch was stuck. He sat there for just a second before respectfully tapping out.
Hermansson has now won three straight, all by way of finish. In fact, five of Hermansson’s six UFC wins involved a finish, and he’s just the second man . Taking out a ranked opponent should get Hermansson a number next to his name, as well as another name matchup in his next outing.
