Following his knockout win against Darren Till at UFC London a few weeks back, Jorge Masvidal has quickly become a top contender at 170-pounds. However, ‘Gamebred’ isn’t too fond on a fight with either Leon Edwards or Ben Askren next.
The win against Till was Masvidal’s (33-13) first in over two years, dropping decisions to Stephen Thompson and Demian Maia in his fights before that. Regardless Masvidal is now ranked at number four in the welterweight division, and it’s clear he only wants fights that will take him closer to a title shot.
Talking in an Instagram video he posted to his account, Masvidal indirectly responded to Edwards’ and Askren’s callouts.
“I got these two little sluts, one’s from England, one’s from some suburb calling me out,” Masvidal wrote on Instagram. “One’s not in the Top 10 and the other one that is hasn’t got a victory in the UFC, didn’t make the dude tap, didn’t put him to sleep, but you think you have a win in the UFC. Who are you fooling?”
Edwards had a run-in with Masvidal after UFC London that left the Brit with some cuts on his face, meanwhile Askren defeated Masvidal’s American Top Team teammate Robbie Lawler in controversial fashion earlier in March.
“You can fool the crowd but you can’t fool me, playboy. When I seen you in the hotel, what did you do? You ran away like a little bitch.” Masvidal said. “I was ready to slap you up if you said anything disrespectful. What do I care to fight you or the other guy? I’ll let my management decide, you can keep hitting’ me up all you want though. You little sluts.”
