Dana White on Conor McGregor’s retirement tweet: It makes sense, I’m so happy for him

Dana White released a statement on Conor McGregor’s supposed retirement.

Conor McGregor just tweeted out his supposed retirement from mixed martial arts competition on Monday night. While it seemed more like another negotiation ploy than anything else, Dana White is taking it seriously. Well, at least that’s what he’s making it seem in a statement he texted to multiple media members.

“He has the money to retire and his whiskey is KILLIN it. It totally makes sense. If I was him I would retire too,” White wrote. “He’s retiring from fighting. Not from working. The Whiskey will keep him busy and I’m sure he has other things he’s working on.

“He has been so fun to watch!!! He has accomplished incredible things in this sport. I am so happy for him and I look forward to seeing him be as successful outside of the octagon as he was in it.”

Did April fool’s come a week early? Does White genuinely believe he’s retiring, or is this just his way of calling McGregor’s bluff? I guess we’ll find out soon enough.
