It seems like Dana White’s plan of a UFC bantamweight title fight between Henry Cejudo and Marlon Moraes are heating up, as Cejudo is hinting of a fight at UFC 238 in June.

Talking on the recent edition of Ariel Helwani’s MMA Show, Cejudo discussed the UFC’s plans to book him against Moraes for the vacant bantamweight title.

“Nothing’s really finalized,” Cejudo said. “Nothing’s finalized on the date or what-not. Not even the contracts have been signed. But they’re thinking June 8, Chicago -- Chi-town main event.

“If it’s June 8, we are three months away, 12 weeks,” he said. “And this is my life. This is all that I work for. I’m a step closer, and it’s about to go down. Somebody’s about to go down, and that’s definitely not me.”

Cejudo discussed T.J. Dillashaw’s failed drug test last that led to him relinquishing his bantamweight title and being suspended for a year by the New York State Athletic Commission (NYSAC). “The Messenger” was concerned at the severity of the case due to Dillashaw voluntarily relinquishing his title after he was informed of the adverse finding in his test.

“He let the belt go, and nobody does that,” he said. “Nobody does that. So that just lets you know how possibly severe the case can be.”

“You go through this roller-coaster, where you go from being sad to being mad,” Cejudo said. “You go, wait, what if he would have beat me up, like Brock [Lesnar] did with Mark Hunt? Sometimes these things cross through your head, because you just never know. This ain’t baseball, man. If this all comes out to be true, I would never feel comfortable fighting somebody like that again.”

UFC 238 takes place on June 8th at the United Center in Chicago, Illinois. In addition to a potential bantamweight title fight, a UFC women’s flyweight title bout between Valentina Shevchenko and Jessica Eye is expected to take place on the card.
