UFC 235 is almost here, and as usual, Embedded is here as well. The show that gives you an inside look at the marquee contestants on PPVs has issued the fourth episode for this weekend’s big show in Vegas, and it serves as a brief introduction to the fighters at the top of the card.
Things start out in Jon Jones’ hotel room. He’s watching interviews with Anthony Smith from prior Embedded episodes. Him and his team laugh about Smith’s interview. “He can talk, I’ll give him that.”
They show some training footage of Smith. And they take Jones’ comments from prior Embeddeds and get Smith’s reactions to them. It seems a little gossipy, but it’s a good way to build a rivalry that isn’t exactly bubbling over.
They show a nutritionist that talks about cooking for Kamaru Usman. Usman gets his food and looks impressed.
Rashad Evans talks to Smith about Kamaru Usman in the gym. Smith seems to like Usman, and believes that they’re similar people. Evans talks about bringing Usman into his team and even had him living in his house for years. Evans then sees Jones, and it’s all love between them now. Jones says that Rashad used to be a mentor to him, and they had their down times (in the Jackson split), but it’s all good now. Francis Ngannou rolls through for a talk with Bones too. Ngannou talks about the Jones/Smith fight a bit.
Din Thomas is there with Tyron Woodley and Ben Askren. Askren talks about how they are great training partners for each other because they are better versions of their respective opponents.
Cody Garbrandt is in the hotel with his kid, talking to Diego Sanchez. He discusses fatherhood. He then addresses the two losses in a row, and how he’s learned from them.
And that’s it! UFC 235 goes down tomorrow night in Vegas.
