UFC’s Saturday night card in Fortaleza, Brazil was a stacked one on paper, but the actual fights that took place definitely did not disappoint. The two co-headliners, in particular, ended in spectacular finishes, as the both José Aldo and Marlon Moraes extend their respective win streaks.
Apparently watching all the action unfold was suspended UFC lightweight contender Conor McGregor. “The Notorious” tweeted out his reaction to the night of fights, while also confirming his interest in fighting in Brazil.
What an amazing atmosphere at UFC Brazil tonight.

I would LOVE to compete there for all the passionate Brazilian fans at some stage of my career.
I was so close to securing a bout in Rio last year. It was essentially a done deal.
Maybe next time.
Ui Vai Morrer!!!! I’m still here.
McGregor being “so close” to fighting in Brazil last year was in reference to his apparent plans to face Rafael dos Anjos for the interim welterweight title at UFC 224. RDA ended up fighting Colby Covington at UFC 225 in Chicago.
McGregor’s only fight in 2018 was against Khabib Nurmagomedov at UFC 229 in October, where he lost via fourth round submission. Prior to that, he had remained inactive, with his last combat sports venture taking place in August of 2017 against Floyd Mayweather Jr.
He is currently slapped with a six-month suspension and a $50,000 fine for his involvement in the post-fight brawl between members of his team and Khabib’s teammates.
