In the co-main event of UFC Fortaleza, Jose Aldo picked up his second consecutive win for the first time in almost five years by picking up a second-round TKO over Renato Moicano.

What was the high point of the fight?

It was a fairly hesitant start to the fight, with both men looking for a way into the exchanges through some low leg kicks. Aldo seemed to struggle to get into striking range towards the end of the first round, with Moicano using his height and reach well to keep the former champion out of range.

At the start of the second round, Aldo unleashed a swarm of punches beginning with some body shots that backed up Moicano against the fence. Somehow Moicano stayed on his feet, but after Aldo landed a knee and some follow up punches, the referee then stopped the fight and Aldo walked away with the win.

Where do these two go from here?

Aldo recently outlined his plans after this fight with Moicano was to fight twice more in Brazil, and then retire. When asked whether he wants to make another run for the UFC featherweight title he once held for so long, Aldo stated he just wants to fight on the UFC 237 card which takes place in Curitiba, Brazil in May.

The loss for Moicano snaps his current two-fight winning streak, looking revived after his loss to Brian Ortega by picking up wins against Calvin Kattar and Cub Swanson. A fight with Mirsad Bektic, who Moicano was supposed to face at UFC 231 in December, makes sense next for the Brazilian.
