The top of the UFC Phoenix billing just saw former title contender Francis N’Gannou knock out the former champ Cain Velasquez just moments into the opening round.

Velasquez tried to close the distance and get himself a takedown, but N’Gannou was having none of it. A well placed right hand landed on the button and Velasquez went down. On his way down, it looked as if Velasquez blew out his knee. This was the first fight in nearly three-years for Velasquez, so hopefully the recovery process won’t be too long. Yikes times ten and a half. For Ngannou, this makes two-straight wins in a total of 71-seconds. N’Gannou proved once again how scary and powerful his punches are, and there are only so many options for his next fight. There just might be a title shot looming for him.
