With 2019 coming to a close, there’s just one burning question on the minds of Henry Cejudo and Jorge Masvidal: Who is going to be crowned Fighter of the Year?

Cejudo feels he’s most deserving because he beat T.J. Dillashaw and Marlon Moraes in back-to-back fights and became a two-division champion, but ‘Triple C’ didn’t win the ‘BMF’ title or KO Ben Askren in five seconds to set the record for the fastest knockout in UFC history.

Those differences made for an interesting discussion on Twitter, where Cejudo and Masvidal went head-to-head and argued over who ought to be crowned 2019’s Fighter of the Year.

“Take I good look at this man, because in a few days I’ll be the 2019 Fighter of the year! Saved an entire division in 32sec Won a second world title I am the Baddest Mother F@cker EVER! #bendtheknee #2019fighteroftheyear #BMFE.”

“Hold my pizza #1of1”.

“That’s more like Juan on Juan. I’m 1 of 1. Olympic Champ, flyweight champ and bantamweight champ. - Triple C”.

“Does anyone other than the dude that got his jaw broken speak cringe? #AskingForAFriend”.

“No, but I speak gold! that trophy going to look really nice in my trophy room. #bendtheknee”.

Cejudo was recently stripped of the flyweight title for inactivity, but ‘The Messenger’ claims he relinquished the title voluntarily. The Olympic gold medallist is currently injured but expected to defend his bantamweight title sometime early next year. Masvidal is also expected to return the UFC next year to take on either Conor McGregor or Kamaru Usman.
