“Good man Donald, enjoy the Christmas dinner. Happy holidays to you and the family, from the McGregor’s here in Ireland. See you in 20/20 with bullseye vision.”

Conor McGregor is being very respectful towards Donald Cerrone ahead of their highly anticipated welterweight bout at UFC 245, which is set to be one of the biggest pay-per-view events of the new year.

Cerrone took to Instagram earlier this week to hype the upcoming bout, and McGregor showed nothing but respect for ‘Cowboy’ in the comments, wishing the UFC veteran a merry Christmas and a happy new year.

After the festivities are over, though, it’s down to business.

“Let this Soak in! This will be my 51st MMA fight and I plan to add new numbers to all these list come January 18. I hold the all-time UFC record for wins with 23. I hold the all-time UFC record for finishes with 16. I hold the all-time UFC record for post-fight bonus awards with 18. I hold the all-time UFC record in knockdowns with 20. I hold the all-time UFC record with seven knockouts via kicks.” Cerrone wrote.

McGregor will return to the Octagon after one-year layoff, having not fought since his fourth-round submission loss to Khabib Nurmagomedov at UFC 229.

Cerrone, on the other hand, will look to spring back into the winners column after suffering back-to-back stoppage losses to Tony Ferguson and Justin Gaethje, losing to the latter via first-round TKO at UFC Fight Night 158.

UFC 246, which is expected to feature McGregor vs. Cerrone as the main event, will take place next month, Jan. 18 at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.
