“I am a human being. Thank you to all who understand what I have put into this game, that will never stop. God bless.”

Colby Covington was badly hurt by Kamaru Usman in the fifth round of their championship epic at UFC 245 this past weekend, but ‘Chaos’ believes he could have continued — and possibly gone on to win the fight — had veteran referee Marc Goddard not stopped the fight.

Covington, who fought rounds 4 and 5 with a broken jaw, took to social media to slam ‘fake ref’ Goddard for stopping the fight, claiming that fans were robbed of a fair fight.

“Normally people do their f*cking in the bedroom, not the octagon @marcgoddard_uk! I go in there to kill or be killed. You robbed me of that. You robbed the people of a fair fight. You should be ashamed of yourself. Fake nut shot. Fake eye poke. Fake stoppage. Fake ref. #ufc245,” Covington vented on Twitter.

Goddard, who has also been targeted by former UFC featherweight and lightweight champion Conor McGregor, responded to Covington with the following classy Tweet.

“Raw emotion & the highest of stakes, fighting is like nothing else on earth. I respect each & every person I stand between & I will give you all I’ve got. I am a human being. Thank you to all who understand what I have put into this game, that will never stop. God bless. ❤️”

Despite losing, ‘Chaos’ earned a ton of credit for his performance and pocketed a $50,000, Fight of the Night bonus for his participation in one of the best title fights in recent memory.
