Tyson Fury: ‘I could flatten Brock Lesnar in 30 seconds’

Tyson Fury is confident about his chances in a fight against Brock Lesnar.

Over the last two weeks, heavyweight boxer Tyson Fury has been dropping hints about a possible transition to mixed martial arts. Nothing is final as of the moment, but “The Gypsy King” is already confident about his chances against fellow heavyweight fighters.

In a recent appearance on the True Geordie podcast, Fury spoke about the possibility of fighting former UFC heavyweight titleholder Brock Lesnar.

“Yeah, I fancy a fight with Brock, for sure,” he said. “I watched a few of his fights. (He’s) pretty handy, but I can flatten him. In a WWE match or in a proper fight, I can flatten Brock Lesnar in 30 seconds.”

Middleweight contender Darren Till, who already did some MMA training with Fury, sees a good chance for this transition to happen.

“I think it’s about 70/30. 70 yes, 30 no,” Till told BT Sport in a recent interview (transcript via MMA Mania). “You gotta remember boxing to MMA is very different as well. He’s making a lot of money, he’s a top three heavyweight. I’d love to see it for the entertainment factor.

“It’s all about the entertainment and whoever he gets - maybe Stipe wants to fight him and probably thinks he can box him. I don’t think so. But I hope so. But maybe I’d be in on a little percentage of that as Coach Till.

“We’re the same management, we’re both MTK so no matter what I’m just supporting him, I’m supporting my team,” he added.

UFC president Dana White doesn’t fancy the idea of a Tyson Fury signing, but for former middleweight champion Michael Bisping, that could mean “big business” for the company.
