According to WRBL in Auburn, AL a second individual has been arrested in connection with the suspected kidnapping of 19-year-old Aniah Blanchard. Blanchard’s stepfather Walt Harris, a UFC heavyweight, has been campaigning for information regarding Blanchard’s whereabouts since she went missing around October 24th.
Antwain Fisher, 35, was arrested on November 22nd in a joint operation between the Auburn Police Department and the US Marshals Task Force. He has been charged with first degree kidnapping. Fisher is currently being held in Lee County Detention Facility without bond.
The first person arrested in connection with Blanchard’s disappearance was Ibraheem Yazeed, 30. He was apprehended by US Marshals in Florida, close to that state’s border with Alabama. Yazeed was also charged with first degree kidnapping. He is currently being held without bond.
Yazeed was captured after CCTV footage inside a convenience store showed he and Blanchard were there at the same time on the night of October 23rd. A witness then claimed to have seen Yazeed force Blanchard into her car, a black Honda CRV.
Blanchard’s Honda was recovered a two days later showing signs of damage. Court documents reveal that blood evidence obtained from the vehicle indicate the possibility of a life-threatening injury.
Yazeed is currently awaiting trial on unrelated kidnapping and attempted murder charges stemming from an alleged incident that occurred in January, and reportedly left an elderly man “close to death.” Yazeed was out on bond when he was arrested and charged with Blanchard’s kidnapping.
Since Blanchard was reported missing her stepfather Harris, and other family members, have been raising awareness and appealing for information online. Due to their advocacy a reward for information now stands at $105,000. The reward money includes contributions from UFC President Dana White and UFC light heavyweight champion Jon Jones.
