Gaethje blasts ‘coward’ McGregor for calling out a bantamweight and the last man he beat

Justin Gaethje volunteers himself as an opponent for Conor McGregor’s planned January return.

Conor McGregor recently announced the date for his UFC return. During a recent media tour in Moscow, “The Notorious” revealed he’ll be returning on January 18th in Las Vegas, against a still undetermined opponent.

In another report by ESPN, two fighters are lined up for McGregor to face: top-five lightweight contenders Justin Gaethje and Donald Cerrone. Both fighters already issued callouts to McGregor in the past, but it’s “The Highlight” who’s been more vocal.

In a recent tweet he posted, Gaethje once again challenged McGregor. This time, he volunteered himself as the opponent for the Irishman’s planned January return.

First a bantamweight now the man I defeated last. I can fight in January @TheNotoriousMMA Let’s show the world the little coward you are. I won’t take your neck when you give it to me and the fetal position is not an option.

UFC president Dana White already shut down McGregor’s announcement, stating nothing’s finalized yet.
