Daniel Cormier says Jon Jones can only accomplish his goals by cheating his way to victory.

Yesterday, former UFC light heavyweight champion and pound-for-pound great Jon Jones told RT Sport that he plans to break Daniel Cormier’s will when he returns to the Octagon.

Jones beat Cormier at UFC 182 and knocked out the former Olympian in the championship rematch at UFC 214, but the latter win was overturned to a No Contest (NC) after ‘Bones’ tested positive for steroids.

UFC 214 marked the third drug testing failure of Jones’ career, and ‘DC’ was keen to point this out to his longtime rival on social media.

Cormier, the current light heavyweight and heavyweight champion, fired back at Jones by ridiculing his accomplishments and calling him a ‘cheater’.

Jones is still awaiting an official verdict on his latest drug test, and the 31-year-old could be suspended for up to four years by the United States Anti-Doping Agency (USADA) due to previous infractions.

Cormier, meanwhile, is expected to defend his newly acquired heavyweight title against Brock Lesnar in the new year. The two-division champ got into a heated, WWE-like altercation with Lesnar after he knocked out Stipe Miocic to win the heavyweight strap at UFC 226.
